PHNOM PENH, May 20 (Xinhua) -- The National Television of Cambodia (TVK) and the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) on Friday inked a memorandum of understanding on broadcasting cooperation.
The agreement was signed between TVK’s Director General Kem Gunnawadh and KBS’s president Kim In-Kyu, witnessed by Cambodian Minister of Information Khieu Kanharith and South Korean ambassador to Cambodia Chang Ho-jin.
Speaking after the signing ceremony, Kem Gunnawadh said that through the MoU, the two state TVs will cooperate in the exchange of broadcasting documents such as educational, cultural and historical documentaries, and dramas.
Moreover, the KBS will provide technical support to TVK in order to improve the quality of television program productions, he said. Also it will accept TVK officials to train South Korea in engineering techniques as Cambodia is going to use TV Digital Media Broadcasting by 2015.
Meanwhile, Kim In-Kyu said that KBS is the biggest of four major Korean television networks and the KBS’s strategy is to cooperate with other televisions in Asia, especially in Southeast Asian countries. (Nguon Sovan)
