4th Int’l-Phnom Penh photo festival held in Cambodia

PHNOM PENH, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Photojournalists from 16 countries on Saturday have their works displayed in the 4th International Phnom Penh photo festival here to show the public about their respective countries’ daily lives and development, said an organizer.
Kor Borin, Coordinator at the French Institute, which organized the event, said hundreds of photos taken by professional and amateur photographers have been selected for the displays in 21 different places in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, from Nov. 26 to Dec. 12.
“The photos differ from country to country, from photographer to photographer,” he said at the Exhibition Hall at the Royal University of Fine Arts. “They feature the reality of people’s daily life in their countries and some reflect their country development.”
During the opening of the exhibition, there was the participation from Cambodia’s Minister of Culture and Fine Arts Him Chhem and the French Ambassador to Cambodia Christian Connan.
One of the photojournalists, Mingyi Luo from China’s Sichuan said this was the first time he participated in the event and more than 20 pieces of his photos taken in the 1990s have been on display in the exhibition.
“My photos feature the development of a downtown street in Sichuan’s Chengdu after the government of China had laid out the reform policy,” he said. “I want to show international visitors about the progress and development of China.”
