Cambodia signs to donate rice, cash to WFP in next 5 years

   PHNOM PENH, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- The government of Cambodia signed to donate 10,000 tons of rice and 2.3 million U.S. dollars to the United Nations’ World Food Program in the next five years in order to contribute to the body’s humanitarian activities, said a joint statement received on Thursday.
   The agreement was signed on Wednesday evening between Finance Minister Keat Chhon and WFP representative to Cambodia Jean Pierre de Margerie.
   Through the deal, the government will donate 2,000 tons of rice and 46,000 U.S. dollars to the WFP a year.
   Meanwhile, Jean Pierre de Margerie expressed sincere thanks to Cambodia for its five-year generous contribution to the WFP and added the donation makes Cambodia a model country in contributing multi-year resources for improving food security.
