PHNOM PENH, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- The 8th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting for
Social Welfare and Development will be held in Cambodia's Siem Reap
City from Sept. 3 to 7, according to a statement of Cambodia's Ministry
of Social Affairs released Thursday.
On that occasion, the 4th ASEAN+3 Social Welfare Ministers meeting will also be held.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen will preside over the opening ceremony, the statement said. "The meetings, held once in every three years, aim at increasing cooperation in social affairs among ASEAN member states and between ASEAN and its strategic partners: China, Japan and South Korea," it said.
The last meeting was held in Brunei in November 2010.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
